This week, as we reviewed some of the final work our students did during Quarter 3, I found a truly inspiring message from one of our 6th graders. Being that our Essential Question was: How can artists impact the community? I found her Artist Statement to be trule fitting and showed me how the class has impacted her. I hope that she continues to make an impact and inspire others as we move into Advanced Thinking Lab this quarter.
"My collage is done in the Mixed media style. I chose to use mixed materials because my collage represents an inspiring quote. My quote was “Change your thoughts and you change the world.”- Norman Vincent Peale. I chose to depict this quote because I like to think about how my thoughts and ideas could shape or affect the world around me, and think about how I can have an impact. My collage represents this quote by showing lots of different things, like ideas in your thoughts, and showing it forming the world of the person having the ideas. Im hoping people notice my use of materials representing ideas." -- A 6th grade student
