Thinking Lab Studio Exploratory

 

The purpose of exploratory is to provide middle school students th opportunity to engage in a variety of subjects outside of their everyday class schedule in a way that sparks curiousity and prepares students to make personal learning choices so that students develop passion for learning early on in life.  

Essential Question: 
How can I use my creativity to find and define my intellectual passions?
 

Students will experience creativity related to various occupations/passions. They will follow a weekly structure to explore areas of interest.  First, students will have the choice to observe and respond to their choice of an individual’s work, then they will imitate the creative process, finally, they will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to create their own piece. By the end of the unit, students will share their experience through gallery/presentation to ECS students (TBD) in another grade.

I chose to create/design a nature photo. After learning about what professions you can have in the field of nature photography, I thought it would be interesting to try it out because photography is fun. My favorite part of this project is/was editing photos. -Sage Arnold
