Innovation and Design Time

 

Fridays, we reserve classtime for 6th graders to have their "innovation and design" time.  The idea is that 80% of time spent in this particular class is spent on work and 20% of time is "innovation time out" where students can use the Thinking Lab space and materials to focus on personal projects and passions.  The first two Fridays, we created centers so that students had structured time with the new materials.  Here, students learned about priciples and elements of art while expressing their interests.  Future Friday Innovation and Design time holds possibility of collaborating with local artists in the community.  Stay tuned!
