Kick Stick Challenge

This week in Thinking Lab, 5th grade is starting their new challenge, The Kick Stick. Students are to use limited materials to build a handheld "kick stick" that uses a motor-driven spinning arm to kick a Ping Pong ball across the floor. Materials provided are: 3-volt motor, AA battery, battery holder, cardboard, rubber washer, paper clips, duct tape, aluminum foil, craft sticks, hook-up wire, and a paint stirrer. As groups of two follow the engineering design process to complete this challenge, they are asked to then create a game using the kick stick. Visit again soon to see pictures following the process!
