Touchdown Challenge

CHALLENGE: Design and build a shock-absorbing system that will protect two "astronauts" when they land.

MATERIALS: (per lander)

• 1 piece of cardboard

• 1 paper cup

• 3 index cards

• 10 mini marshmallows

• 3 rubber bands

• 8 straws

• scissors and tape

Students follow the engineering design process: ID the Problem, Brainstorm, Design, Build, Test, Evaluate, Redesign, and Share Solution.
