Self Portrait Project

Students start this project by experimenting with four styles of making portraits: Realism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism, and Pop-Art. After they have tried all four, they are to research two styles, one from the four they've tried and one of their choice (many chose "Manga"). After researching their two favorite styles, students choose their favorite to go and create either a self portrait or a portrait of a celebrity of their choice. Students not only choose which style to use, they also choose their surface and materials.
